The first part of lecture will concentrate on what this genre has to say about how its' authors understand history and the role of the individual in it, the individual's power to change the course of history. In the second part, we will find out what the breaking points, chosen by the writers as the starting point for the alternative universe, the points where the history of fiction takes a different path than the history from the extra-literal world, tell us about their ideological views and the society we all live in.
