Author, infectious disease specialist and also amateur historian and botanist Marijan Šiško was born in 1971 in Slavonski Brod. For his his debut work, the alternative history novel “Orao I zvijezde”, published in 2021 by Association Marsonikon’s publishing house Alienus, he received the prestigious genre award SFERA for best novel.
