Above the Knee

Amir has a good job and a steady girlfriend. He doesn’t seem to be missing a thing. Actually, he’s tormented by dark thoughts that he has too much of something – a dreadful feeling that his left leg doesn’t belong to him and needs to be removed. When he meets Rikke who suffers from the same disorder, he becomes even more determined to get rid of the unwanted leg.

After displaying his penchant for bizarre themes in festival hit Good Boy, writer-director Viljar Bøe delivers a new tense thriller in which he puts us in the shoes of a man that suffers from a severe form of dysmorphic disorder, thus giving us an uneasy task of trying to understand feelings that most of us consider unfathomable. Undoubtedly one of the most unique films of last year and a must-see!
