We are proud to be able to host Caroline Munro at this year's edition of the Grossmann festival, an actress who has appeared in numerous horror, science fiction, action and adventure films, as well as thrillers and comedies, throughout her impressive career. She has collaborated with the most prominent directors and actors, masters of their profession, and has left her indelible mark on the field of genre films.
We admired her as a Bond girl in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), but the character of the legendary secret agent also marked the very beginning of her acting career, as her second role was in the film Casino Royale (1967), a parody of spy films based on Ian Fleming's first novel about this famous hero. Several more supporting roles followed, until her further film career was propelled by the signing of a contract with the famous British studio Hammer.

Caroline Munro joined Hammer Studios at the height of its fame, mainly due to a series of skillfully crafted horror films that still hold a prominent place in the history of genre cinema. She was the only actress at Hammer with a long-term contract, and she made only two films for the studio, Dracula A.D. 1972 (1972) and Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter (1974), but she attracted such attention with them that she has been getting a wide variety of roles ever since.
Caroline Munro has practically never stopped acting, her recent appearances being mainly on television, but her most prominent roles were in the 1970s and 1980s. These certainly include such films as The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973) and The Last Horror Film (1982), both of which will be screened at our festival. She has not starred in any more Hammer films, but she does appear in the documentary Hammer: Heroes, Legends and Monsters (2024), which summarizes the history of the production company and all those who shaped it. Caroline Munro released her autobiography Reality Behind the Fantasy last October, she loves to appear at various conventions and is a popular guest at genre film festivals. We are very pleased that she is joining us at our festival this year.
