The participants will find out more about fear and repulsion; feelings that, according to Nöel Carroll, this medium needs to provoke in its audience, so it can be called horror genre. We will walk through the historical development of the genre. We will find out why the horror novel originated in the era of enlightenment, and which historical events have influenced this growingly popular genre to this day.
